The East Riding of Yorkshire Archives can be accessed in Lord Roberts Road, Beverley, and holds documents dating from the 12th Century to the present day. Their web site has to be one of the finest county archive sites in the UK and must be visited.

Through Yorkshire BMD, the county's Family History Societies are collaborating with the local Registration Services to make the indexes to these records freely searchable via the Internet. Although the indexes are not yet complete for all years and districts, but will eventually cover Yorkshire births, marriages and deaths for the years 1837 to 1950.

Heroes of Hull is a database of individuals who lost their lives in times of war; civillian and military. Although the name implies that olny Hull folk are included, records from the surrounding areas (e.g. Cottingham, Beverley, Hedon) - and some as far away as from Scarborough, may also be discovered. The database conitinues to grow every day and visitors are ethusiastically welcomed to add their own ancestors and tributes to their 9000+ records.

Hullwebs Heritage of Hull offers a large collection of local history snippets including historical maps, a database of Hull (and district) war dead, whaleship masters and vessels, and a record of trawlers and crew members lost at sea. Hullwebs is always looking for local interest stories, documents and images for inclusion on their website.

Hull City Archives, are located next to the EYFHS Research Rooms in Guildhall Road, is the City of Hull's central archive of historical documents.

Kingston Upon Hull Central Library hold a large selection of materials for the family historian, inluding St Catherine's Index, The International Geneologian Index (IGI), old newspapers, census returns - far too much to list here!

Local Studies Library, in Albion Street Hull, holds local census returns, newspapers and a wealth of books, photographs and information valuable to the family historian. GRO Index and the IGI are also held in the same building.

The Latter Day Saints Research Centre, in Holderness Road, is a valuable source of research information and advice which should be visited by all family historians. Church membership is not required.
