Helping History
Transcribing Historical Documents is an extremely important and time consuming part of the work of our society. Without the help of our numerous volunteer helpers, our work could not progress at the speed that it does.
We are always looking for new volunteer helpers (members only please)
who are able to assist with this work in a number of ways. Typical recently completed projects include;

Transcribing and publishing the surviving admissions registers for Hull Workhouse.

Transcribing and publishing the records of Sculcoates parish apprentices.

Transcribing and publishing the indexes to the local Birth, Marriage and Death Registers (to make them available online) in conjunction with the East Riding of Yorkshire Archives at Beverley. (Pilot project will begin soon.)

Creating a photographic record of local monumental inscriptions across the whole region.
Most projects, but not all, require the use of a computer. We would also like to hear from you if you are able to visit either Hull or Beverley Archives on a regular basis to help with projects there.
